VISUAL ARTS
In Between Saves
In Between Saves is an ongoing collection (1998-present) of original concept art, drawn in biro on sticky notes and reskinned notebooks - mostly while waiting for files to save, meetings to start, or for public transit to arrive. The work is a visual diary of a career in design, illustration, and concept work, and a record of the creative process itself. The work consists of biomechanical spacecraft, figures, cityscapes, and organic systems, built up one margin at a time, each piece as unique as a fingerprint.
Informed by the visual language of Métal Hurlant, Moebius, Wrightson, Beardsley, Parrish, (and more), the work draws on science fiction, fantasy, and dark romanticism. What began as a quiet, private effort is now a commercial project, currently being digitized and brought into the world.
